Marine Engineer Wanted at 60° North Greenland ApS
60° North Greenland ApS is a family-owned construction and logistics company in Greenland operating a small fleet, including a hotel ship (12-passenger capacity), a landing craft (75-ton capacity with Schottel water jets, crane, and hydraulic boom), and smaller boats. We are currently seeking a Marine Engineer or a professional with an equivalent technical background and solid experience in maritime engines and systems to oversee the operation, service, and maintenance of our vessels.
Main Responsibilities
- Daily Operations & Maintenance: Plan, execute, and follow up on maintenance tasks, routine inspections, and repairs of ships and equipment.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Identify and resolve technical issues related to engines, hydraulics, electrical, and control systems.
- Spare Parts & Inventory: Ensure necessary spare parts and consumables are always available in close coordination with warehouse and ordering personnel.
- Coordination & Teamwork: Collaborate closely with our in-house workshop, external suppliers, and any subcontractors to maintain efficient operations.
- Compliance with Standards: Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Educated as a Marine Engineer (Maskinmester) or holds a similar maritime/technical background.
- Experience with maritime engines, propulsion systems, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
- Preferably experience in daily operations and maintenance of smaller vessels.
- Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to live in or relocate to Qaqortoq in Greenland, as daily on-site collaboration is required.
